Deep Trekker recently conducted an in-depth technical training session for Global Diving & Salvage, equipping their team with the skills needed to maintain and operate their fleet of REVOLUTION ROVs effectively.
Led by Tim De La Franier, Diagnostician & Service Trainer, and Levi Pike, Technical Resource Manager, the session in Seattle, Washington, provided hands-on instruction tailored to the real-world demands of commercial diving and subsea inspections. Serena Brown, Global Business Development Manager, was also present to support the training and the Global Diving Teams' future plans for expanding their capabilities.
The training focused on ROV maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands-on piloting exercises, ensuring Global Diving & Salvage personnel gained confidence in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in the field. Participants, who already had strong backgrounds in commercial diving, brought a meticulous approach to equipment care and operational precision.
Tim De La Franier highlighted the collaborative nature of the experience:
"The guys were very knowledgeable, and from their diving experience, very meticulous with how they maintain their equipment. They all seemed to learn a lot from us, and we in turn learned from them."
Global Diving & Salvage, known for its expertise in subsea services, continues to expand its in-house capabilities by integrating advanced ROV technology into its operations. As underwater inspections become more complex and demanding, having a highly trained team proficient in ROV operation ensures they can deliver safer, more efficient, and high-precision survey solutions to their clients.
By working with divers in hazardous conditions and enabling longer, more detailed inspections, ROVs allow Global Diving & Salvage to improve safety while enhancing the scope of their services. With the ability to conduct high-resolution imaging, structural integrity assessments, and real-time monitoring, their team can take on more challenging projects, including offshore infrastructure inspections, salvage operations, and environmental assessments.
This training ensures their operators can maximize uptime, quickly troubleshoot technical issues, and adapt to dynamic underwater conditions with confidence. The seamless integration of ROV technology into their workflows strengthens their ability to meet the growing demand for remote subsea inspections.
"Backed by a skilled team, Global Diving & Salvage continues to be a trusted provider for in-water surveys and inspections," added Serena Brown. "With this training, they are even better equipped to leverage ROV technology for safe, efficient, and detailed underwater assessments."
This training session reinforced the strong partnership between Deep Trekker and Global Diving & Salvage, ensuring their team is fully equipped to integrate ROV technology into their operations with confidence and providing their end clients with the assurance of a reliable service provider. By combining hands-on technical instruction with real-world applications, Deep Trekker’s experts - Tim De La Franier, Levi Pike, and Serena Brown - helped bridge the gap between traditional commercial diving expertise and the evolving demands of remote subsea inspections.
With their newly acquired skills, Global Diving & Salvage can enhance efficiency, reduce operational downtime, and take on more complex underwater inspections with greater precision. The exchange of knowledge between both teams not only strengthened technical capabilities but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration.
"Delivering service training to Global Diving was an absolute pleasure. Their team was highly experienced, incredibly teachable, and eager to engage in meaningful discussions about real-world scenarios," said Levi Pike. "They not only absorbed and displayed the technical aspects of ROV repair and maintenance quickly but also shared invaluable insights from their extensive experience in commercial diving. It was a true exchange of knowledge, and we look forward to supporting them as they put their training into action."
Deep Trekker remains dedicated to providing industry-leading ROV training and solutions, ensuring that commercial diving teams worldwide can operate with confidence in challenging underwater environments.
